We’ve made it! Today brings us to day twelve, and therefore the conclusion of Chocmas … I hope you’ve enjoyed this little diversion over the festive season, I’ve certainly enjoyed chatting with you all about one of my great loves … chocolate!
On the twelfth day of Chocmas,
my true love sent to me
Twelve orange chocolates,
Eleven coloured smarties,
Ten dinner mints,
Nine choc maltesers,
Eight choc mint balls,
Seven m & m’s,
Six chocolate peanuts,
Five giant buttons,
Four choc rochers,
Three lindt balls,
Two golden roughs,
And a tasty minted pattie!
Orange and chocolate. I don’t know why they work so well together, but they just do. While I’d normally go for Jaffas, they were nowhere to be found over Christmas – so these are ‘orange chocolate balls’ from Darrell Lea (an Australian chocolate shop). Whatever they’re called, and whoever makes them … orange chocolate treats are always enjoyable.
Before you go, here’s a little re-cap of the entire ‘Twelve Days of Chocmas’ journey … my oh my, that’s a lot of chocolate! Don’t worry though, all these little chocolates found themselves a very good home.
Thanks so much for coming along on my chocolate festival – regular blogging will resume from tomorrow … and that’s quite a relief really, because I think I need some distance from chocolate (at least for a little while).
If you’d like to send the leftover chocolate that you’re distancing yourself from, I could handle it. 🙂
Hi Jan – Haha … oh my, if I could I would certainly send some chocolate your way … however I can’t honestly say quite how much chocolate is in fact ‘left over’ … 😉
I think I have gained weight just reading you posts. But it was woth it. Choco is my best friend, I can’t really have enough of it.
Hi Bobbi – Haha … at least you only ‘virtually’ gained weight reading about chocolate … think about ‘poor’ me who had to do all the actual eating! 😉
Chocolate is my best friend too … I’ve come to realise that life is too short to ignore such lovely and loyal friends as that! 🙂
I’ve enjoyed this SO much, haha. Congratulations Tracey… you’re a complete star for making these last 12 days so thoroughly *right* 🙂 (apart from the Ferrero Rocher thing but I won’t mention it again, nuhuh, I promise ;))
Hi Kiersty – I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed my little Chocmas extravaganza! (I loved putting it together and I’m so glad it’s been so much fun).
Haha … I don’t think you’ll ever really forgive me for that Ferrero Rocher incident … maybe I’ll have to make it up to you with some REAL chocolate one day! 😉
I loved your chocmas series Tracey – thank you 🙂 Chocolate and orange are best friends, as Jamie Oliver would say.
Hi Gabrielle – I’m so happy you enjoyed my Chocmas series … I think it was a bit of fun for me to do rather than stop blogging altogether over the festive period … it was a lovely distraction (and chocolate indulgence).
Jamie Oliver does have a wonderful way with words (let alone some of those delicious meals he cooks up!).
They look fab all together like that 🙂 I’m reading these in reverse though, there are several I don’t recognise – looking forward to finding out what they are!!
Can you get chocolate oranges at all? It’s chocolate infused with orange oil, and it’s rather lovely 🙂
