Bespoke is in the house

What’s that I hear you say? It looks as if I’m running behind on absolutely everything again? … surely not?! At such busy times I always apply the philosophy of, ‘better late than never’.

True to form once more I find myself ‘chasing my tail’ and desperately in need of more hours in my day … that’s ok, surely things will settle down one of these days?

In any case, I finally got myself organised enough to pick up a copy of ‘Bespoke‘ (a brand new zine by the wonderful and inspirationally productive Jess). While there is also a virtual version available, when it comes to magazines and books I’m more often than not a printed paper kind of girl … there’s something about that tactile relationship between paper and fingertip that makes the process of reading all the more enjoyable … but I digress …

If you’re into all things lovely, arty, crafty, handmade or vintage (and why wouldn’t you be?) … then ‘Bespoke‘ is the perfect zine for you.Β Aside from Issue 1 looking gorgeous and being super affordable, it is beautifully presented, and of a very pleasing weight (believe me, that last point is very important for a printed publication).

Bespoke‘ is a wonderful way to become better acquainted with talented people you’ve perhaps already read a little about, seen online or met at a market … and better yet, it also offers the perfect introduction to a whole host of other inspirational creatives (the best of both worlds really).

Hi Jess – Oh it’s absolutely my pleasure! And yes, that all important ‘weight’ is perfectly balanced … πŸ˜€

  2. Kylie

It looks lovely. Perhaps I will pick up a copy when I’m helping out Red Revival at BiDM on Saturday – I’ll tell Jess you sent me!

Hi Kylie – Jess has certainly put together a lovely zine, I’m sure she’d love to hear what you think!
Have fun at the BiDM this weekend … I always plan to have a poke about the markets, but never quite trust that I’ll ever get myself that organised! … I keep saying ‘one day’ … πŸ˜‰

  3. Gabrielle Bryden

Looks lovely – I never even knew there was a ‘handmade community’!

Hi Gabrielle – It is a lovely printed creation. It’s amazing how many little universes exist around us … I’m sure there is a niche for everything we could possible imagine! πŸ™‚

Hi Erika – I love zines too! They’re such a labour of love, and they offer a completely different perspective to that of a standard magazine or book.

  5. Caz

Looks like a great little publication thanks for letting us know. I hope that you have been sleeping a bit better of late. There’s nothing worse than needing sleep and not being able to get it is there? Maybe it’s this stormy weather (is it stormy up there?).

    1. tracey (Post author)

Hi Caz – Bespoke is lovely indeed! I actually did get a better sleep last night, so I’m hoping my sleep cycle is starting to return itself to normal again (which would be much appreciated!). I think the weather hasn’t been helping me much, the air at night has been really still and humid … and I like it to be the opposite for sleeping! πŸ˜‰

… it’s been really overcast in Brisbane this week, and there’s been a lot of rain about … but no storms yet. Is that what you’ve been getting?
      Take care.
