Goin’ to the Chapel …

I’m off to the wedding of my future sister-in-law later today. While I was hoping for blue skies and fine weather, it seems that the day will instead be rather grey and rainy.

I really wanted to ‘go vintage’ with my outfit for the occasion, but even now I’m still undecided as to what I’ll ultimately end up wearing. On the vintage front I’d found this gorgeous 1960s Jonathan Logan party dress for an absolute bargain – with its full skirt, back bow feature and lovely print, I just knew it had to be mine.

While I absolutely LOVE my ‘new’ Jonathan Logan dress, I’m just not sure I want to go green today. Knowing me I’ll probably end up going with one of my favourite vintage-inspired Vanessa Tong dresses.

The things I love about these dresses is that they are super-flattering, highlight the waist and feature that full skirt which I always adore. If I was being completely honest though I would have to admit that the number one awesome thing about these dresses is that they have POCKETS!!

I love a good pair of hidden pockets in which to hide my hands …
Are you a pocket-lover too?

Hi Caf! I’m so glad you love the green dress too … it’s SOOOO pretty in person as well. YAY for a mutual love of hidden dress pockets (great minds think alike). Your delightful ‘Penelope’ is most certainly a dress with many, many talents! πŸ™‚

I love pockets – and I love that green dress! I hope it was a beautiful day, regardless of the weather! xo

Hi Francesca – Pockets are lovely … green dresses are lovely. Pockets + Green dresses are even lovelier!!! πŸ™‚

The wedding ceremony was beautiful, and thankfully the weather did clear eventually to a lovely clear evening (I shall have to try and pull together a blog post about it sometime … though I did forget to take my REAL camera, I was reliant on my phone). xx

I love the green dress. I can never find amazing vintage dressses. I love pockets though! especially at weddings – I’m always holding a camera in pictures.

Hi Rhianne – I’m so glad you like my ‘new’ vintage dress … funnily enough I ended up wearing something else to the wedding as I didn’t feel very ‘green’ on the day of the ceremony. Pockets in dresses are so very wonderful aren’t they? It’s so nice to put your hands at your side and discover you have a little hiding place for them! πŸ™‚

I can’t believe I actually FORGOT to take my camera to the wedding … I had to rely on the camera in my phone … oh well, I’m sure we’ll see some of the official photos down the track. πŸ™‚
