It might not look like too much now, but this is a very exciting start…the first of my tulip bulb shoots…I’ve been anxiously awaiting this moment since I first planted my bulbs many weeks ago.
I was beginning to worry that none were going to emerge, so at least I know that one so far has survived…and hopefully many more will follow.
How exciting! It felt a bit like Spring was springing this weekend – it’s good to see some proof.

Hi Francesca – It is definitely exciting!! I was getting quite anxious about the whole growing process, but now that I’ve seen a little bit of green, well I don’t feel so bad. The weekend weather was *beautiful* indeed, so hopefully the cold mornings will disappear soon…though in saying that the chilled air and frosty grass can be quite inspirational…(I just struggle to get out of bed on time)…
PS. So very excited you’ve got yourself a new camera!! 8)
Tulips are possibly my favourite flowers! That’s so cool that you’re planting; I have no luck whatsoever with plant life, lol. Keep us up to date with tulip progress 🙂
Hi Kimberley – I’ve never really tried my hand at growing flowers from bulbs before, so I’m hoping that this won’t be a failed experiment…
I’m so impatient though, I just want the blooms NOW!! I think I actually have to wait until September before they bloom…but I feel like I can’t wait!! I’ll definitely keep you posted!
Yes, I know just how exciting that can be. I am overjoyed at the moment for my orchid is in bloom.
Best of luck, green thumb.

Hi Gracia – It’s just lovely to be growing things again. While there is certainly something special to be said about creating something from nothing with our hands, there is also something very magical about a plant growing from seed, or a bulb…one minute nothing, and then the next, something wonderful bursts through the surface of soil…amazing!!
Oh orchids are beautiful indeed!! Perhaps after I (hopefully) have some success with my tulips, I shall try my hand at caring for an orchid.
Ah the first signs of life. I’m sure it’s gratifying.

Hi Ricardo – Yes indeed. Now that I can actually see some green buds making their way through the surface soil, I feel that perhaps I will eventually get some blooms… 8)
