I love myself a good music video, and this one of ‘Common People’ by Pulp is great (and accompanies a particularly awesome song). Jarvis Cocker totally rocks this with his smooth dance moves and his even smoother voice. You can watch the video here.
I hadn’t listened to this song (or watched the video) in ages and was glad to be reminded of its existence (thanks rage), sometimes you just need that little nudge to remember…so consider yourself also hereby ‘nudged’.
Hopefully you enjoy this tune as you reflect on your place in the world of ‘common people’…
i can not see it…it says content not availalbe for peole of your country….lol!
Hi Shraddha – Thanks for letting me know…hopefully the new link works out OK for you now. If not, I’m sure you can track down which song I mean! 8)
i got the same message, but i remember both the song and video well. one of the 3 or 4 totally classic britpop tunes and jarvis cocker has this ineffable coolness that totally inspires me. that guy is aging well, too. some things don’t go out of style.
Hi Jason – It’s just an awesome video isn’t it? Jarvis Cocker is so very, very cool. You’re so right, he is aging really well – often those who are eternally cool just seem too.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Very good song. Have never seen the video for it however. Thank you!
Hi Ricardo – I love Pulp, they have some absolutely awesome music (and great videos). I could only ever hope to be just a little bit as cool as Jarvis Cocker.
I LOVED this song when it came out! The film clip is still awesome, too 🙂
.-= Jen´s last blog ..WIP it, WIP it good… =-.
Hi Jenna – I always seems to forget about this song, and then once every few years I hear it playing somewhere random and remember that ‘I really love this song!’ His dance moves are pretty wicked in that film clip too…
this is one of my all time fave britpop songs – great post! reminds me of many top nights at Popscene and Superdeluxe. I still have the little comic book that came out when the single was released
Hi Richard – So glad to hear that you enjoy this song too!
It’s just such a classic track and always has me admiring Jarvis with his cool dance moves. How awesome that you’ve still got the related comic book from it’s release – that’s great!! 8)
Good news!! apparently Jarvis is coming to Brisbane on 5 December. hopefully he’ll do a few Pulp favourites. Doesn’t look like tickets are on sale yet.
Hi Richard – Oh, I didn’t know Jarvis was planning a visit to our fair shores…thanks for letting me know!!
I’m currently hitting Google up for all the details… I’ve never seen him perform live, I’m sure he’s incredible!!
I’ll keep an eye out for tickets… 8)
