With the end of 2007 and the start of 2008 I thought it appropriate to reflect on some of the last things that I did in 2007. So without further ado…the last:
CD I Purchased – Rain on Lens (Smog)
Movie I Watched – The Darjeeling Limited
Dinner – Curry Lentil Pie and Roast Potatoes
Breakfast – Buttered Raisin Toast and Soy Flat White (in a mug)
Book I Purchased – Heart is A Lonely Hunter (Carson McCullers)
Book I Finished Reading – One Hundred Years of Solitude (Gabriel Garcia Marquez)
DVD I Purchased – Marie Antoinette
Live Music Event I Went to – Nick Cave (Solo) and Grinderman
Chocolate Bar – Fry’s Turkish Delight
hey there!
I am still in the process of compiling my MUST READ reading list for 2008 – but on it must at least be ONE GGMarquez book – either No-one Writes To The Colonel OR One Hundred Years of Solitude – both I have started and both I started to love….
Happy New Year !
yayayay, i got the quiz question right again, have you gone already? i just discovered after all this time that you are a queenslander, go the mighty maroons i say, me too, imagine that, i didn’t discover this until now when it is too late cos it looks like you are gone, oh well, que sera sera,
What do you think the deal is with Grinderman, is Nick just trying to play guitar for them as a joke or something?
“No Pussy Blues” is an OK tune though.
Hi Peach – How did you go with compiling your ‘must read’ list for 2008? (I’ll pass through your site soon and check out how you’ve gone). I have to say that putting a list together is very organised of you, I find that book selection is driven by my mood, time and current brain capacity…but I’m envious of someone who has a plan of attack in mind. GGMarquez is an amazing author, and I can’t wait to read more of his work!! I hope your new year has got off to a great start!!
Hi Me – No, I’m still around these bloggy parts, I just took a bit of time to warm up to writing here in the new year. Now though I feel refreshed and ready for a year of hopefully interesting blogging action. Yes, I most definitely am a Queenslander…but I have to say that I find myself getting continually disillusioned with this place…Happy new year!!
Hi On Durgs – Thanks for your message a few days ago, it’s always nice to hear from someone out there in blog world, particularly when they have such nice things to say. As for Grinderman, I have to say that I didn’t delve too much into their world until I saw them live…and they blew me away to say the least. I think it gives Nick a chance to seriously ‘rock out’ similar to the days of ‘The Birthday Party’…his is one intense guy.
