Do you think bears would prefer to drink tea or coffee? I personally think they’d reach for the stronger caffeine hit from a big cup filled with coffee … especially after emerging from a long and restful hibernation. I know I’d be needing some real coffee after being stuck in a cave for all that time. Perhaps that’s why bears sometimes get a little upset with us humans? Maybe we’re coming between them and their first cup of coffee?
I don’t know if you’ve seen the ‘Hidden Animal Teacup’ series, but I recently made the bear version my own. While this is technically a teacup, I’m sure you and the bear won’t mind that I’ll be using mine for coffee more often than not. I’m a bit of a rebel like that.
The cutest thing about these cups is that as the surface level of your drink reduces, your little hidden animal is slowly revealed. I think this bear and I are going to become fine drinking partners.
Welcome bear friend, let me never find anything more unpleasant than you at the bottom of my cup. Have you ever found something icky in your cup AFTER finishing a drink? I seem to remember one horrifying childhood experience, when I found a nasty cockroach at the bottom of my glass of red cordial … that’ll teach me for drinking with my eyes closed!?!?
Let’s raise our glasses (or cups) to a happy weekend! May your drinks be filled with cheer and surround you on the very finest ofΒ occasionsΒ … I’m off to make a cup of coffee and see how my homemade Black Forest Cake is coming along … xx
I love the bear but if I didn’t know the bear was there it would freak me out a little π
Hi Erika – He’s a very cute bear, buy you’re right it would be a little surprising to discover him at the bottom of your cup if you weren’t expecting it! π
that’s really cute. imagine serving a friend a cup of tea when they didn’t know the cup and then watching their face π
Hi Primoeza – I’m glad you like him too. Haha, it would be funny to serve a cup of tea to an unsuspecting friend! π .. It’s almost worth buying a set with just that purpose in mind! π
How adorable. I have never seen anything like it before. Charmaine
Hi Charmaine – They are rather unique cups, and very cute. I look forward to drinking with my bear.
He’s a super cute fellow! I saw these online the other day, and was almost tempted. But, then I remembered that when I was a child a family member had an, ahem, rude version of this kind of thing. I think you can guess what was hiding in the bottom of THAT particular cup. Naughty.
Hi Kylie – I think you’ll appreciate just how long it took me to decide which ‘hidden animal’ to buy … Haha! π
Oh what a naughty family member to have such a rude version of such a cup. Very naughty indeed! π
Those are pretty awesome! I have not seen them before, I’ll have to check them out..
Hi Tammy – I’m glad you like it! They are rather lovely … I find it hard to resist such cute things! π
So cute! On the other hand, your cockroach story is disgusting π
Hi Gabrielle – Thanks, I think they’re cute too. Yes, that cockroach story on the other hand is much less cute! π
So cool! I have been wanting one of those cups…but I’m sure I’d chip the poor little guy inside in a bleary morning rush to get caffeine into me!
Hi Hayley – You should definitely get one too! But that’s a good point about that early morning rush for coffee – I’d best be careful lest the bear gets his revenge on me! π
I agree with you, I think they woulg go for coffee! And those mugs are just adorable!
Enjoy what is left of your weekend π
Hi Signe – I’m glad you agree on the bear and coffee idea. I know if I was hibernating for a long time, that’s what I’d want to have! π
I had a lovely weekend, thanks for your well wishes. I hope your weekend was wonderful too! π
Um…. I totally want this! What an interesting piece! π
Hi Kimberley – They are lovely cups, you MUST get one! π
I have to stop myself from getting the whole collection! π
xx
Love the cup. I haven’t seen those before. I’m sure the bears would go for coffee, though it’s not something I had thought of before.
Hi Lynne – I stumbled across these cups a little while ago and finally decided to succumb to temptation. π
Haha, I’m glad you agree with me on the bear and coffee front … π
Oh. My. Goodness!! That is such a freaking great idea! I’ve not seen these…. where can I get one? I’m off to Google them and see what I come up with. So cute, and what great presents they’d make if you knew someone’s favourite animal. I think I’d like a whole set, each with a different animal in it.
Linda. xox
P.S: I like to think bears drink Earl Grey Tea. π
Hi Linda – I’m so glad to hear you love these cups as much as me! I shall let you know where I purchased mine and send you a link … I just can’t quite remember at the moment. I ended up buying from America, because the postage was reasonable and the exchange rate is good. I’d love it if they made more hidden animals – I think there’s only three different kinds at the moment.
PS. I think that honey-colored bears would drink Earl Grey Tea … I had black or brown bears in mind as the coffee drinkers. π
How adorable Tracey!
definitely sooo much better than the cockroach!
Oh my…I’d be so traumatized!
Have a wonderful + creative new week~
xo*
Hi Lenore – They are adorable, aren’t they? At heart I’m sure I’ll never grow out of my love of cute things! π
Haha, and yes SO much better than a cockroach … Yuck!
I wish you a wonderful week too … I hope all manner of delights come your way! π
ok, i can’t make it past commenting on the cockroach, that is awful!!! i have a deap seated hatred for those things after living in a brooklyn apartment that had them when I was little. (singing loudly in my head to get rid of the thoughts now!)
Hi Krystal – Oh dear, I’m so sorry for bringing up such bad cockroach-related memories. They are awful creatures for sure … Just think of delicious coffee and warm, cuddly bears instead! π
Have a great week. xx
i’ll go fill my cup with caffeine now, to continue reading your heavenly corner.
i’d love to encounter a bear down my cup, i’ve never reached past coffee grains in akward patterns (since i’m brewing from a caffetiere). but hey. there’s always hope. ..
i love the relationshp with your bear!
nβ₯
Hi Woolf – You are a delight!
Wouldn’t it be lovely to encounter a bear in such a way? I believe it would be far preferable than discovering one wandering down your garden path! π
You’ll have to see what is hidden within your next delicious cup of coffee. Sometimes the greatest mysteries take the longest time to emerge.
xx
Oh my, I adore your blog. I am following you now. I hope you do the same.
Cheers to you! Emily of EL Vintage
Hi Emily – Oh thanks so much, you are lovely to say such sweet things. I’m glad you enjoyed your visit here. I will most certainly come and visit you in similar fashion. π
How cute! just like your blog…I spent a really long time just browsing simply gorgeous lovely to meet a fellow Aussie π
Hi Katyha – Thanks for your delightful visit, you are too kind. I always love meeting new visitors, and I agree … it’s also lovely to meet another Australian blogger. π
My stepfather used to have a big tea mug with the figure of a man holding a cup inside…. We did surprise a few unsuspecting visitors by letting them drink from the mug π
I *love* black forest flavours!! How was the cake?
Hi Mel – Oh your stepfather’s cup with a man inside sounds really clever … I can imagine you would have got a few surprised guests drinking out of that one! π
Black Forest is one of my favourite cakes too … And I’m happy to say while mine didn’t look fantastic, it worked out surprisingly well … I’ll share some photos of it when I get a chance. π
That is such a sweet tea cup, lot’s of fun to drink from I imagine π
Hi Melanie – I know! I just couldn’t resist this little cup of beary loveliness! π
I once found a dead crane fly in a box of Rice Crispies. It’s traumatised me to the extent that I can never, ever eat Rice Crispies again. Hey ho. This tea cup is gorgeous. I have one my daughter bought me from a theme park, which reveals a 3d vampire bat. Not quite as gorgeous as yours, haha.
Hi Kiersty – Oh dear, that would be a traumatic experience eating Rice Crispies with that discovery.
I’m glad you like my bear tea cup, and I very much like the sound of your 3D vampire bat mug … your daughter must have excellent taste (that’s such a super gift)! π
