Well we’re really getting to the business end of this little Chocolate festival now – just two more days to go and we’ll be done. That’s probably a good thing given the heat and humidity I’ve been ‘enjoying’ the last few days – it hasn’t exactly been good chocolate eating weather … more like chocolate melting weather.
On the tenth day of Chocmas,
my true love sent to me
Ten dinner mints,
Nine choc maltesers,
Eight choc mint balls,
Seven m & m’s,
Six chocolate peanuts,
Five giant buttons,
Four choc rochers,
Three lindt balls,
Two golden roughs,
And a tasty minted pattie.
After dinner mints are a perennial favourite – with their crisp chocolate shells and smooth gooey mint insides … I remember sneakily eating a whole lot of these as a child … what a sensible youth I must have been, because honestly it’s far too hard to stop at just one.
PS. Are you still enjoying a festive holiday? Sadly I’ll be returning to work tomorrow … I’m consoling myself with thoughts of air-conditioning and the promise of a proper holiday in the not-too-distant future. Have you got something on your near horizon to look forward to?
I am so glad chocolate has medicinal benefits…not to mention the psychological lift.
Hi Jan – I just can’t imagine what I’d do without chocolate in my life … it’s certainly one of the finest and best ways to indulge.
After dinner mints remind me of when I was a kid and my parents would go out to dinner and Mum would always bring home the after dinner mints for us 🙂 We had to cancel our holiday because of the flooding, but will reschedule very soon – so we are looking forward to that 🙂
Hi Gabrielle – That’s such a lovely memory you have of after dinner mints … how nice of your mum to bring them home for you all (I’m so selfish with my chocolate, I tend to keep as much as I can for myself … hahaha).
😉
It’s such a shame you had to cancel your planned holiday … but I’m very happy to hear that you’ll be rescheduling. There’s nothing quite like a holiday on the horizon to keep us moving positively forward! 🙂
Mmm yum, I’ve almost worked my way through my box of After Dinner Mints I got for Christmas as well and the Mint Pattie was the first thing I ate out of my stocking! Love mint chocolate.
Hi Megan – Thank goodness I’m not alone in my love of After Dinner Mints … I love indulging in them over Christmas! 🙂
Oh and I see you’re also a fan of Mint Patties … excellent! I can’t believe I’d underrated them all these years … I’ve been missing out on mint chocolate goodness! 🙂
Man, now I really want some chocolate, and it’s before 10am!
Hi Franca – Oh no … sorry for causing any unwanted chocolate cravings!! Though perhaps you could indulge with something sweet for morning tea? 😉
