The Twelve Days of Chocmas (Day One)

And so the wonder of Chocmas begins! – (for your information Chocmas is a completely made-up event purely for the purposes of excusing an over-indulgence in chocolate goodness over the festive season). Perhaps you’d like to join in with a tasty treat or two?

On the first day of Chocmas

my true love sent to me

A tasty minted pattie.

While they’re not normally a favourite treat, I must say that the humble Mint Pattie is pretty tasty. There’s just something so right about the combination of chocolate and mint, don’t you think?

PS. I hope your Christmas day was wonderful and wonder-filled … Did Santa bring you something magical?

Santa has been good to me…a set of vintage kitchen canisters and a vintage bread box (bonus- none of these has calories!)

Hi Rosie – Oh wow, it does sound like santa was very good to you. I’ve had my eye out for a lovely set of vintage kitchen canisters, but just can’t seem to find the right set yet. You even scored a vintage bread box – now I’m really jealous! πŸ˜‰

You’re right though, your gifts will provide all the joy of chocolate without the nasty side effects … I figure new years is where I’ll start a new healthy beginning (though I’m sure I’ve said that before).

Yum mint patties are so good!! but we are making a healthy start from today so no more treats! (after overindulging for the past month…) I find it easier to start now than the usual new years day health kick haha.

My treat for now will be yoghurt and fruit with toasted nuts… and maybe even indulge in a mango!

Hope you had a wonderful christmas

Hi Jasmine – I honestly didn’t realise just how good mint patties are (I think I’ve been missing out all these years). Way to go with making a healthy start in your household and not waiting for Jan 1 to come around first. I think it’s a great way to get a head start on a ‘new beginning’. I’ll join you a little later down the road on the healthy option … once I get through new years celebrations that is! πŸ˜‰

Your healthy treats sound really delicious. I love yoghurt with toasted nuts – yum!!

My Christmas was great, and I’m very grateful Brisbane has been much cooler this year … I hope you enjoyed a wonderful day too! πŸ™‚

I am an After Eight lover… I have a fresh box to pop in the chocolate fondue tonight with some brandy cream and some fruit, wafers and marshmallows to dip in. I reckon this is probably the big round brother of them, haha. Have a wonderful relaxation after Christmas. Lieing back and eating chocolate seems like a wonderful idea to me.

Hi Kiersty – Oh yes, I’m with you on your love of ‘After Eight’ chocolates … they’re delicious. My goodness, that treat you had planned with chocolate fondue, brandy cream, fruit, waters and marshmallows for dipping sounds AMAZING. Can I come to your place for Christmas if you serve that up again? πŸ˜‰

I am very much enjoying not being at ‘the day job’ at the moment. It’s allowing me the space to get some serious thinking done. I hope you have some dedicated relaxation time planned over the festive season too … πŸ™‚
