There’s just something about bunnies …

I’ve always thought that rabbits are rather wonderful creatures.
(although I never liked Bugs Bunny)

Maybe I like them so much because they’re considered a pest where I live and therefore I could never have one as a pet. Perhaps I could blame the adorable rabbit we had in my pre-school class (on weekends we’d take turns to take him home) – his name was Pebbles and he amazed me with his inquisitive nose and his rapid lettuce-eating skills.

Every once in a while I’ll find a rabbit too tempting to resist, and I just have to bring them home with me to live … these two enjoying the grass below have been with me for a while now.

I also have it on good authority that I may have recently purchased a cotton wrap complete with bunny ears for those cool summer nights … (it’s really not as bad as you may imagine).

… sigh … before you know it I’ll be snacking on carrots and other garden goodness, and then my rabbity transformation will be complete.

I had an Easter bunny for a pet when I was little. He lived a long happy life and I have had a warm place in my heart for them ever since.

Hi Jan – Ohhhh an Easter bunny for a pet … how very lovely!! And it’s wonderful that he lived a long and happy life (such lovely pet stories always warm my heart as I know how much my dog and previous pets mean to me). They are such wonderful creatures I think … I’m sure I’ll always love bunnies too! πŸ™‚

OH I love bunnies too. And that is no cheeky aside at the Ann Summers model, haha. I had one rabbit when I was little called ‘Hoppy’ who was white with pink eyes, and simply gorgeous. But when I bought my girls one each a few years back, I ended up picking up bits of them from all over the garden courtesy of the local fox, dammit. I told my girls they ran away to find boyfriends. They still believe that’s what happened. Oh well… πŸ™‚

Hi Narnie – I’m so glad you love bunnies too! (all ‘adult’ jokes aside) πŸ˜‰

Oh a rabbit called ‘Hoppy’ … that’s such a great name for a rabbit and he sounds like a classic looking rabbit. They are such wonderful creatures to have as pets. Sadly for you and your girls they are also such delicate creatures, who offer too great a temptation to predators … GRRR at the fox for taking advantage of easy targets!!

I love that your daughters think the rabbits ran away to find boyfriends … I think that’s a much nicer story to believe in! πŸ˜€
