Oui oui, mon Paris

Without a doubt, whenever I’m asked the relevant question I will always say ‘Yes, Yes’ to the delights of Paris!! I’m still yet to pay her a visit in person, but I just have this sneaking suspicion that we’d easily be the very best of friends.

To honour the romance, eternal appeal and distinctive style of that most beautiful ‘city of lights’, I’ve gathered some lovely madeit players together for your entertainment. I hope they earn your appreciative applause!

Top Row (left to right):

  1. Ooh La La hair clip, $12 by twirling betty (super cute and just a little bit cheeky).
  2. Masquerade Mask on sterling silver chain, $23 by Oh Deer (mysterious and elegant … just like the fair city herself).
  3. French Script in Cloud refillable journal, $49 by rabbit and the duck (to this bright and cloudy journal I would happily say, Bonjour!).

Bottom Row (left to right):

  1. La Chaise Rouge Art Print, $25 by Mulberry Muse (a lovely, super easy way to bring an antique furniture vibe into your home).
  2. Cream Rose Zipper Brooch, $5 by Frankie and Plum (this gorgeous flower represents the classic, yet intriguing nature of French style).
  3. Fleur de lis Cushion, $44 by tractor girl (… you had me at blue stripes).

Until Paris and I meet face-to-face (soon, my dear), I’m hoping that through these lovely French-inspired goodies, we can imagine ourselves there in the meantime …

Sweet dreams! xx

I hope that when you do get to Paris you are as enchanted as you wish to be. I’ve yet to travel there too.

Thanks Gracia – Your kinds words are, as ever, enchanting and welcome in my world! I hope that you also have an incredible visit to Paris some time soon … I’m sure we shall both have that most wondrous experience of nibbling on a delicious pastel coloured macaroon from Laduree… (amongst other wonderful memories)… 🙂

Unquestionably, La Rive Gauche (the Left Bank) and other leaf-lined arrondissements are beckoning, and wish you’d visit someday! Her mastery and feminine artfulness will sweep you off your feet into impressionable visual treats.

I fondly remember some of the many things I’ve done in Paris, especially delightfully taking my morning tea or coffee at Café de Flore on the Boulevard Saint-Germain, strolling through the pretty Les Tuileries, bicycling around the formal grounds of Versailles, treating myself to La Tour D’Argent, visiting the l’Orangerie Museum (I wanted to see the entire Renoir collection), and of course taking in the very spectacular view of Paris at night from atop the Eiffel Tower. On my third visit, I hope to dine at one of the Eiffel Tower’s restaurants.

I’ll never forget strolling down the Champs-Élysées (which is probably one of the most beautiful avenues in the world) one spring visit, and hearing the handsome young men ring out the words “la belle, la belle” over and over again to me. Well, since those days I’ve continued to smile and be lovely.

Hi Lisa – Oh yes, that wondrous destination of ‘the Left Bank’ has tempted me for many years … I’m sure I hear it whisper to me on the softest of summer breezes, rich stories of delights both incredible and true. I’m currently planning an overseas sojourn, and the beautiful Paris is currently top of my list. My feet can’t wait to find new paths while wandering over ancient places.

Based on your lovely Paris story, you’ve confirmed my thoughts that Paris would be a memory-making city and a place to seduce the soul. Everything you’ve done (and yet to do) sounds magical Lisa. Your recollection of those charming and handsome French men calling to you in that ‘beautiful’ way is certainly a vision to cherish forever … xx
