Autumn – A Season for the Senses

The air is just a little cooler and crisper each day. Bare hands clutch more firmly to the warmth of oversized coffee cups. Light from the sun seems a little brighter and clearer, yet somehow shines a little more distantly. The house fills with the comforting fragrance of sweet cakes, pies and biscuits baking in a hot oven.

The  red and brown leaves crunch satisfyingly underfoot…

Autumn Leaves

…Autumn has arrived…

There’s nothing like shutting up the house against the cold at 5pm (or when it gets dark) and baking/roasting something…

Hi Nico: I love that whole ‘hunkering down for the night’ feeling that permeates through the house when we finally make it through the door at the end of each day… and with the days becoming shorter and shorter, this feeling just grows stronger. I always get the baking urge at this time of year, though I’m determined to try and be at least a little healthier this winter…

The changes of season are the best time of year, for sure. And the crispyness is nice, I like the mornings in the park over the road. It’s very cool to know another blogger in the same town.

Hi Paul: I feel somewhat obsessed at times with seasonal change, but perhaps that is simply because I’m looking for some changes to happen in my life… when the seasons turn, anything feels possible.

I agree that it is very nice indeed to know another blogger living in the same place … we can relish our similar experiences…

It’s a wonderful time, isn’t it? I find that and spring to be my favorite times of year. The colors and crispness in the air are what win we over as far as autumn goes.

Hi Ricardo: I love myself a good autumn, and you’re right, spring also brings with it a certain kind of special feeling.

I love the cool of winter too, but it is a bit of a struggle to actually get up each day and face the cold… if I could sleep in and stay warm all day inside, well that would be a different story…
