Hi Shraddha - So glad you enjoyed the post... as we start approaching the end of our winter in Australia I've been reflecting more and more on how much I enjoy this time of year. The summer heat and humidity are not such great friends to me. Though I'm sure the garden and all the flowers appreciate the renewal of all that comes with the warmth and sunshine of spring.

Hi April Belle - Winter is a lovely quite under-rated time of year I think (and I see that you agree!). Best of luck with the mini-garden you've planted, I really need to do some more gardening myself. Unfortunately it seems to be one of those things that I always put off to 'another day'.

I hope your garden yields plenty of whatever it is you're hoping for in the coming seasons - whether that be flowers, herbs, seeds, vegetables or fruit! 8)

Hi Lisa - I'm so glad that I find a winter friend in you! I know that the cold can get some people down, but there is just a certain kind of tingle that the chill of winter puts into the air which motivates me a little more to work harder towards my dreams. I love the epic layering of clothing which is sometimes required at this time of year, and yes as you mention, the contrast of sheltering inside from the cold and staying close to home. Quite simply the perfect season for snuggling with our favourite people, animals, food, drinks, books, movies and music.

You have such a beautifully light, yet luxuriously decadent way with words which makes me quite literally sigh with the incredible visuals you create...

I am determined to bring more floral beauty into my life (and my home), so hopefully these winter blooms are only the beginning of that venture and not just an end.

Lisa, like so many of the wonderfully talented writers and artists which I have been fortunate enough to visit online, you deserve to be on my blogroll a million times over... 8)

I enjoy winter too - you painted such great word pictures of it. I've just planted a kind of mini-garden so it will be fun to see the contrasts you mention. Thanks for a lovely post.

Ah! Yes it’s certainly a cozy, contemplative and nostalgic season. The fresh and invigorating weather brings one magnetically to all things warm and nurturing. Yet a slice of the season’s iciness is a thrill and treat unto itself, especially, its contrasting ways. Whilst the magically memorable season is at its heart, good books are calling to be read, mugs of hot chocolate wait to be sipped, and lovely, multi-layered dark fashions of the day wait to be worn.

Your potted lovelies painted a tender smile upon my face, as peonies are truly the apple of my eye. Am inspired and senses have certainly been awakened.

Just noticed that you’ve added me to your Blogroll, which was awfully kind of you. Shall certainly come by to visit from time to time, and whip up a comment or two for quiet paws.
